Introducing the RevealTwin

Over the past 12 months, Reveal’s Field Ops and Technology teams have created the world’s largest subsurface digital twin in Wellington, New Zealand.

As part of the Let’s Get Wellington Moving transport improvement project, Reveal mapped 50 hectares of underground Wellington, including the CBD and Golden Mile.

Reveal’s expert utility surveyors used ground-penetrating radar, electromagnetic line tracing, laser-scanning tools and 360-degree cameras to create the most accurate snapshot of the subsurface environment of any urban area ever created.

Reveal’s data processing team, based in New Zealand and the Philippines, then processed the collected data to produce a complete 3D model of the underground.

The RevealTwin creates a single source of truth for the subsurface world - a trusted, up-to-date repository that Wellington’s urban planners can use, share and build upon. The RevealTwin platform is designed to be an open, accessible and affordable tool that allows engineering consultants to design better outcomes, utility surveyors to work smarter, and contractors to manage health and safety risks.

We’re partnering with more cities around the world to establish their own subsurface twins. If you’re interested in learning more about the RevealTwin and would like a demo, get in touch.
